One of the biggest detractors to EV ownership is the misconception that EV battery lifespan is poor and that as consumers we're going to be replacing them often and at great cost. This just isn't true and thankfully most manufacturers warranty the battery in particular for 8 years with very generous mileage allowances.
Clearly things can go wrong with any machine but with reports of over 100k miles with little battery degradation and over 300k+ with only minor amounts, it would tend to suggest the batteries will outlast the car.
