We’re big fans of the Škoda Enyaq iV, giving it 4.5/5 when we reviewed the standard car. Since then, Škoda launched a hot vRS version in Coupe form, bringing more performance to what was already a compelling package. We’ve now got the vRS performance version in the standard body shape, adding a slightly more practical option to those who want a hot Enyaq.
Powering the Enyaq iV vRS is the same 295bhp, 339lb-ft dual motor powertrain that can be found in the Coupe. It posts exactly the same performance figures, too, hitting 62mph in 6.5 seconds and continuing to a top speed of 111mph. All-wheel drive with optional adaptive chassis control, plus sports suspension and distinctive 20 or 21 inch wheels help sharpen the Enyaq iV up in the corners as well.
The battery comes in at 82kWh, enabling the car to travel around 310 miles on the WLTP cycle. It can be refilled with electrons at 135kW, meaning 10 to 80 per cent charge is achieved in just 36 minutes. The standard on-board charger is 11kW. When combined with the POWERPASS app which enables plug-and-charge quick connection to numerous charging providers Europe-wide, Škoda is trying to make the charging process much slicker.
You can read up about the standard Škoda Enyaq iV on our review for a full overview of the car’s external features, but this being a vRS variant, there are some tweaks which help it stand out.
Gloss black features around the car as has been common with vRS models for some time now. The frame of the grille is presented in gloss black, as are window frames, exterior mirror covers and the rear diffuser, as well as the rear lettering. Custom shaped air curtain surrounds at the front of the car and body coloured side skirts, between vRS-specific 20 or 21 inch wheels also mark the car out as a vRS model. Finally, the Crystal Face lighting comes as standard, including illuminated grille ribs at the front and full LED lights front and rear, with matrix lights at the front.
All of this comes together not only to make the vRS look aggressive, but also to help achieve a drag coefficient of 0.265.
The sportiness continues on the inside of the Enyaq iV vRS, which also comes with a high level of equipment as standard, including the 13 inch central screen up front and 5.3 inch digital cockpit with optional head-up display. Three-zone climate control, LED ambient lighting and inductive smartphone charging is also standard.
As for vRS details, buyers can expect carbon-look trim, aluminium pedal covers, heated sports seats with integrated head rests bearing the vRS logo. Various options of materials and material colours enable buyers to tailor their car to their tastes.
Where the Enyaq iV vRS differs most from its Coupe counterpart is in the boot capacity which stands at 585 litres, and is accessed by a standard electronic tailgate. This is 15 litres more than the Coupe, which granted isn’t exactly a lot. Folding the rear seats increases this to 1710 litres.
Škoda has confirmed that the vRS version of its Enyaq iV will start at £52,670. Orders will begin on January 17 2023 with deliveries following thereafter.
